The Physics Department has these PhD programs: Medical Physics, Nuclear Radiation, Optoelectronics, and Nano Materials + Theoretical Physics.
The Medical Physics program within the PhD in Physics is designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and skills in applying physics principles to medical applications. Key modules include Matlab Programming, which provides essential computational tools; Applied Physics, focusing on practical applications; Advanced Nuclear Physics, exploring nuclear aspects relevant to medical imaging and therapy; Advanced Research Methodology, ensuring rigorous research skills; and Advanced Medical Physics, delving into the latest medical physics techniques and technologies. This program prepares students for careers in clinical environments, research institutions, or industry.
The second Medical Physics program offers a similar foundation but with a focus on Radiation Biology instead of Advanced Medical Physics. This variation includes Matlab Programming, Applied Physics, Advanced Nuclear Physics, and Advanced Research Methodology, alongside Radiation Biology, which explores the effects of radiation on biological systems. This program is ideal for students interested in the biological impacts of radiation and its applications in medicine.
The Nuclear Radiation program focuses on the physics of radiation and its applications. It includes modules such as Matlab Programming, Applied Physics, Advanced Nuclear Physics, and Advanced Research Methodology, complemented by Radiation Physics and Nuclear Structure Physics. These courses provide a deep understanding of radiation interactions and nuclear phenomena, preparing students for careers in nuclear energy, safety, or research.
The Nano Materials + Theoretical Physics program integrates theoretical physics with the study of nanomaterials. It features modules such as Matlab Programming, Applied Physics, Advanced Solid State Physics, and Advanced Research Methodology, alongside Optoelectronic Materials and Devices, which focuses on the design and application of materials at the nanoscale for optoelectronic devices. This program prepares students for careers in materials science, nanotechnology, or theoretical physics research.
This PhD program is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in KRI per University decree No. 7/2/5675 on October 9, 2023.
